Jennifer Aniston almost drowned

Jennifer Aniston almost drowned when she was a child.
The 'Cake' star, who is engaged to the 'Leftovers' star Justin Theroux, has revealed she developed a deep fear of being underwater after she crashed her tricycle into a swimming pool when she was younger.
She said: ''I basically have a real fear of going underwater. I was a kid and I was riding this tricycle around a swimming pool and I drove my tricycle into the swimming pool and I didn't let go and my brother tried to [help me]. So, I can't go underwater and no one will believe me. I honestly can't.''
The 45-year-old actress' phobia made filming some scenes in her new movie, in which she plays a woman who suffers from chronic pain and a prescription painkiller addiction after surviving an accident, extremely difficult because her character undergoes water therapy and she was forced to shoot one scene in a swimming pool 30 times, according to E! News.
The former 'Friends' star is tipped to be nominated for an Oscar for her performance in the gritty film, which was something she had been ''dying to do for years.''
She said: ''It's like a catch-22. It's you know, 'Please let me play this part. I know I can do it.' But then they won't give you the part because they don't know if you could do it.
''So, it's hard. You have to just wait for that wonderful brave human being who sort of says, 'This is interesting to me and all of us to take [the] risk and be bold.' ''

Jennifer Aniston slams Botox

Jennifer Aniston believes Botox ''can really kick you in the a**.''
The 'Cake' star, who previously claimed her fiancé Justin Theroux would put a gun to her head if she tampered with her face in any way, admits she's still ''not a fan'' of the anti-aging treatment, as she sees a lot of ''bad plastic surgery and injections'' in Hollywood.
The 45-year-old actress said: ''People lose perspective. I look around and see how bad plastic surgery and injections can really kick you in the a**.''
Asked about her own beauty regime, the former 'Friends' star told the February issue of InStyle magazine: ''I just take care of my skin, eat well, exercise. And I love lasers and [other noninvasive treatments like] Thermage [radio frequency] and Ultherapy [ultrasound]. I also like a good micro-current facial.''
Jennifer is also a huge fan of ''everything from Chanel,'' fish oil supplements and probiotics, but believes that water and sleep are ultimately ''your best bets for really great skin.''
The actress loves working out and found it difficult to avoid the gym while filming her latest movie, in which she plays a woman who becomes addicted to painkillers.
She said: ''For two months there were no mirrors to look at, no manicurists. Nothing. The hardest part for me was when they said, 'Don't work out.' I said, 'But I have to.' And then I realised, Oh. When you're not working out, your levels of joy just go down, down, down. And it's not that easy to get the weight off once you stop working out. You say to your body, 'Hey, what's going on?' But that's just the 40s.''

I Was So Grateful For My Body': Jennifer Aniston On Portraying Chronic Pain

Jennifer Aniston plays a woman who suffers from chronic pain in the independent film Cake. Aniston says she was drawn in by Claire — "someone who is suffering from an unimaginable trauma and loss, [while] also dealing with the daily physical pain that is a constant reminder of that trauma and loss."

In the new movie Cake, Jennifer Aniston plays a woman suffering from chronic, debilitating pain. Her pain is both emotional and physical — her anger is so uncontrollable that she has been kicked out of her chronic pain support group. "You really do not know what happened to this woman," Aniston tells NPR's Rachel Martin. "As the story unfolds you slowly start to discover bits of information as to what happened and why she is in this state."
Aniston says that's not the kind of narrative that generally gets approved in Hollywood, and so she's glad this was an independent film. "It's a little bit more risky, but I think the audiences have really been appreciating it," she says.
Aniston talks with Martin about her new film, about the time she spent working on Friends, and about her hopes for the future.

On how she played a character who is experiencing pain
It was a lot of studying the back, the leg, the neck. Pretty much every single part of her body was hurt, injured. And you really do start to manifest odd little, you know, cricks and ... pinches in your neck and lower back pain. ... Every week I would have some form of body work, just to make sure, you know, my body didn't kind of lock into any of that permanently....
Talking to women, or men, who are suffering from chronic pain on a daily basis — it is so unimaginable. I mean, I was so grateful for my body at the end of the day.
On whether she is at a point in her career where she can pick her projects.
Well, you can and you can't. The truth is: you can become established in a certain category, and I think you are given, you know, offers and opportunities based on how the industry sees you fitting into that — that job. And sometimes you have to kind of take the reins yourself or take a project on and get it made independently so that you can do that work [that] not necessarily another director or studio would see you, you know, fit for. It is, I've said, such a catch-22. It's like, "I know I can do this, you just have to give me the opportunity" and then what comes back is: "Well, we can't give you the opportunity because we've never seen you do this."
On the time she spent on the sitcom Friends
It was awesome. It was the greatest 10 years. The greatest people to work with every day, the greatest crew, killer writers. Funny. Beloved by people. Not only were we having so much fun ourselves, but the amount of love that people felt for that show, still feel for that show, we tapped into something. I don't know what the hell, but it was something, really kind of struck a nerve that continues to sort of be hit. And I think that's so special to be a part of something like that.
On the way she thinks about the future
I kind of live in the moment. And I don't have a five-year-plan and I don't have, "OK, so what we're going to do now is we're going to go for a character that takes you into a real dark territory ..." It's not a strategy.
On whether she's seeking out dramatic roles
I see what comes to me. I mean, I'd love to play more dramatic roles but I love comedic roles. I love just good material. But honestly, after doing Cake, I feel like I scratched an itch that's been needing to be scratched and I want very much to play really wonderful characters and telling a story, exposing a human experience, comedy or drama or both infused. I mean I think comedy and drama go hand in hand. You know, life isn't one or the other.

Jennifer Aniston On Coping With Media Interest: "Just Don't Pay Attention"

Jennifer Aniston

Jennifer Aniston has been constantly in the limelight since her role in Friends and her high profile marriage to Brad Pitt in the early noughties. Now, at the age 45, Aniston is in a long term relationship with actor Justin Theroux. The couple are engaged but it appears her critics may not be happy until she's been seen safely down the aisle.

So, how does Aniston cope when faced with the constant onslaught of public and media attention intent on discussing every aspect of her relationship? She simply doesn't pay any attention!
Aniston was interviewed by CBS in a segment due to be broadcast on Sunday 4th January. One of the areas the interviewer, Lee Cowan, was keen to explore was how she responds to tabloid attention and how she manages romantic relationships when every aspect of her life is openly discussed. Aniston's coping strategy may be simple but it's taken her years to decide feigning ignorance is the best way to deal with the media.
"Just don't pay attention. I think I used to. There was a period where I was hell-bent on saying, 'That's not true, that's not right, that's not fair,'" Aniston explained in the interview. "And now I just think you have to let it roll off your back and you realize, I think everyone knows it's all BS and, like, soap opera on paper."

Jennifer Aniston on Justin Theroux: 'We Know What Our Truth Is'

Jennifer Aniston on Justin Theroux: 'We Know What Our Truth Is'

Jennifer Aniston doesn't get distracted by the constant buzz surrounding her relationship with Justin Theroux.

"[I] just don't pay attention," she tells CBS Sunday Morning in a new interview set to air on Jan. 4. "I think I used to really, there was a period where I was hell-bent on saying, 'That's not true, that's not right, that's not fair.' And now I just think you have to let it roll off your back and you realize, I think everyone knows it's all B.S. and like soap opera on paper."

"The main thing is to try to just keep refocusing back on what you know is true and what makes you guys happy," Aniston says. "We know what our truth is." The pair have been engaged since 2012.

The actress, 45, who was recently nominated for a Golden Globe and won Movie Performance of the Year – Actress at the PEOPLE Magazine Awards for Cake, also opened up about making the film.

"We were a little teeny, weensy movie made for four dollars and we poured our hearts into it and everyone worked so hard, so that this is happening on top of that, it's just like a huge giant juicy cherry on top," Aniston says.

And her response to those who thought she was just a rom-com or sitcom actress?

"A little part of me saying, 'I told you so?' " she asks. "Maybe a teensy one."

Jennifer Aniston had to run “far, far away” after Friends.

The 45-year-old actress captured the world’s heart playing Rachel Green in the hit sitcom, which ran for ten series and won a staggering 63 awards. Following on from the finale in 2004, Jennifer has only just managed to break her mould with the role of Claire Simmons in Cake, a dark drama which follows a woman embarking on a relationship with a widower.

But all the hard work didn’t put her off.
“Well, I think it’s also from being on a television show for ten years - that’s in your living room week after week, and now day after day (in syndication). You really do have to kind of run far, far away,” she explained to deadline.com.
“But it’s OK. I don’t mind that. I’m up for that challenge, and that’s what excites me… I would be lying if I said in taking this on there wasn’t a part of me that knew I was taking a risk. I knew I had to do it for myself and if it was going to fail and fall flat on its face, then so be it, but I had to. I feel like you have to be brave. You have to be bold. Don’t stay small.”
Despite this character differing enormously from those she has embodied in the past, Jennifer didn’t feel intimidated. But the preparation put into playing Claire – who suffered an accident and is left with facial scars and chronic pain – was more full on than any other job.

“You just approach it depending on the part of your brain that needs to be accessed more. I’m up for whatever. I love it all. I really do,” she added. “Physically, this movie was trying on my body. I had a lot of pinched nerves just from being in that physical space for five weeks straight, but I missed it when

Jennifer Aniston went through lot of pain while filming 'Cake'

Jennifer Aniston recently broke down in tears while expressing her exceptional experience and the pain that she underwent through her upcoming flick Cake.
The 45-year-old actress said that in her intense six weeks of homework she spent a lot of time and learnt a lot from her known stuntwoman who met with a horrific accident, but lived through 22 surgeries and excruciating pain and also became addicted to pain meds, Deadline.com reported.
The Friends star, who has portrayed the role of woman with no-makeup look and scars on her face and suffering from chronic pain after a tragic accident, received standing ovation after the film's premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival. Aniston added that she and scriptwriter Daniel Barnz even consulted doctors and tried to figure out what was the accident, where was the injury, what was shattered, what was broken, how would that manifest itself in the way she would walk or the way she would even speak.
