Actress Jennifer Aniston is convinced her fiance Justin Theroux was "sent" to her from an "unappreciated" dead ex-boyfriend.
The former Friends star reveals her "first love" would have been the man she married if she hadn't been so young and dumb, because she didn't realise at the time how good he was to her.
The unnamed former lover died years later from a brain tumour, and Aniston believes she has him to thank for helping her meet Theroux later in her life.
Opening up about her late lost love, she tells the New York Times, "He was my first love - five years we were together.
"He would have been 'The One'. But I was 25, and I was stupid. He must have sent me Justin to make up for it all."
Aniston, who was previously married to Brad Pitt, began dating fellow actor Theroux in 2011 and they have been engaged since 2012.
