Jennifer Aniston Reveals How 'Cake' Was 'Trying on My Body

PHOTO: Jennifer Aniston appears on "Jimmy Kimmel Live," Nov. 24, 2014.

Physically, this movie was trying on my body," she told Deadline in an interview published yesterday. "I had a lot of pinched nerves just from being in that physical space for five weeks straight, but I missed it when it was over. We had so much fun together. We were like a little theater group."
This revelation comes after the former "Friends" star, 45, went on the "Dr. Oz Show" earlier in the month and revealed her Oscar-worthy performance affected her body and her mind.
In "Cake," she plays a character Claire Simmons, who deals with chronic pain. The actress had to stop working out for a while to make the part convincing to the audience.
This lack of exercise really affected her in the real world.
"It really was interesting when you stop working out how you just ... my serotonin levels went down. My stamina was shot. I was cranky. I was irritable," she said on the show. "I found myself short. I was hungry like crazy."
Talking further with Deadline, Aniston said she thinks this role will really help her break a stereotype she obtained after being on a hit show for a decade.
"From being on a television show for 10 years—that’s in your living room week after week, and now day after day (in syndication). You really do have to kind of run far, far away. But it’s OK. I don’t mind that. I’m up for that challenge, and that’s what excites me ... I would be lying if I said in taking this on, there wasn’t a part of me that knew I was taking a risk. I knew I had to do it for myself and if it was going to fail and fall flat on its face, then so be it, but I had to."

Jennifer Aniston focuses on happiness

Jennifer Aniston focuses on what makes her and Justin Theroux happy.
The 45-year-old actress, who has been engaged to the 'Leftovers' actor since 2012, insists she no longer cares about rumours their relationship is on the rocks and she tries to let negative energy roll off her back.
The former 'Friends' star said: ''I think I used to really, there was a period where I was hell bent on saying, 'That's not true, that's not right, that's not fair.' And now I just think you have to let it roll off your back and you realise, I think everyone knows it's all B.S. and like a soap opera on paper.
''The main thing is to try to just keep refocusing back on what you know is true and what makes you guys happy. We know what our truth is. That's all just static.''
Meanwhile, Jennifer is thrilled she has been nominated for both a Screen Actors Guild Award and Golden Globe for her portrayal of a suicidal woman addicted to painkillers in her latest film 'Cake,' and feels she has finally proved critics that suggested she should stick to romantic comedies wrong.
She told CBS' 'Sunday Morning' in an upcoming interview, airing January 4, 2015: ''A little part of me saying, 'I told you so?' Maybe a teensy one.
''This felt for me...I was really ready to, you know, just disappear and really go into the depths of a character.
''We were a little teeny weensy movie made for four dollars and we poured our hearts into it and everyone worked so hard, so that this [the nominations] is happening on top of that, it's just like a huge giant juicy cherry on top.''
